The Faculty of Visual Arts and Design within the National University of Arts "George Enescu" is pleased to announce the new study program Painting - Fine Arts (in English), Bachelor's degree, within the Department of FINE ARTS. This will be the first FAVD program with teaching in English and is dedicated, first of all, to foreign candidates from all over the world, but also to Romanian ones (from the country or everywhere). The program offers both traditional and contemporary theories and practices of painting.
Students are offered the opportunity to learn and deepen their understanding of the fundamental practices of drawing, color theory, pictorial composition, which are combined with theoretical platforms that define conceptual thinking from major periods in art history, from prehistory to the present day.
Based on a complex curriculum and traditional teaching methods specific to the Academy of Arts in Iasi (established in 1860), this program offers revised academic learning methods that are adapted to current requirements, methods and practices, such as: computer image processing, standard formats for the conception and transposition of a pictorial image (tempera, oil or acrylic painting on canvas) combined with techniques and technologies from other fields of visual art. Along with the practical internship there will be an art management course to demonstrate to students how they can adapt to the international art market today.
The aim of the course is to systematically configure the visual, theoretical and practical resources of students and the development of extensive cultural skills, viewed from a transdisciplinary perspective on reality, to allow graduates to cope with any field of activity that requires artistic creativity, but and have a successful artistic career.

The Painting program is dedicated, first of all, to foreign candidates from all over the world, but also to Romanian ones (from the country or everywhere), who are interested in exploring and learning a series of academic painting techniques and technologies, but adapted to programs. contemporary concepts, inspired by all fields of activity, by the multitude of languages and ways of communication of contemporary humanity. Equally, the program is addressed to those who aspire to a true formula for exploring their own identity and artistic originality, through careful and comparative knowledge of the great paths, currents, styles and pictorial eras, traditional, modern and contemporary.
Objectives
The Painting program aims to create a solid and independent artistic awareness, built on knowledge and go through the natural stages of understanding the history of art, painting, in particular, so as to allow graduates to become professional artists able to address any subject and pictorial manner, traditional or modern, to achieve an efficient artistic management of one's own creative and promotional activity, to be a refined and complex intellectual and an efficient pedagogue, doubled by a creative and authentic personality. We want the graduates of this program to be able to access any professional perspective from the extremely wide range of activities that require visual skills, in the area of painting but also the basic techniques of graphics, sculpture, mural arts, design, scenography, museology, conservation of artwork. art, curatorship and artistic entrepreneurship, advertising graphics, etc.
